Home Plate Provisions is a specialty grocery and gift shop in Wilmington, NC (and now online!) focused on offering iconic food and beverages from across the US – so that someone can come in the store from anywhere in the country – including our own neighborhood - and find something that tastes like home.

We offer pantry staples, snacks, sodas, seasonings, meats, and cheeses, as well as a wide selection of vegan and gluten free items. We have home goods, personal care products, and gifts for all ages. I’m especially proud of our regionally specific cookbooks and bar manuals with a focus on Southern, Black, and immigrant food history and cultures, as they are the foundation of American cooking and eating.

I have been dreaming about a store like Home Plate since I moved to Seattle from Charleston in 1995 and couldn't buy grits in the grocery store. After several lucky decades of traveling (and eating my way across) the US and delighting in treats that are difficult or impossible to find outside of their home regions, I finally pursued the thrilling/terrifying opportunity of creating the store I always wanted to shop in.
